How we ran it

One prompt set, frozen and public.

102 real phrases — 70 Hindi, 10 Marathi, 20 Gujarati, 2 English — spanning weddings, festivals, deities, names, and civic phrases, weighted toward the conjuncts, matras, and halant sequences that break AI generators.

One output per prompt, no cherry-picking.

The first result from each system, single shot. No "best of four", no retries. Real-world behavior.

Graded by a fluent reader, against a fixed rubric.

Every output scored for exact text, conjuncts, vowel signs, script purity, legibility, and production-usability. The grader saw the target text next to the image.

We graded ourselves strictly.

Studio99’s own rendering defects count against us — that is why our legibility sits at 82%, not near-perfect: a few of our results are stylized enough that a reader has to work for them, and we docked those honestly.

Scope. This run compares Studio99 against a single leading general-purpose AI image generator at its default quality. It measures exact Indic text fidelity — the specific thing Studio99 guarantees by construction — not general image aesthetics. The prompt set and rubric are versioned; results are reproducible.

Why Studio99 gets it right

Image generators draw letters pixel by pixel, so they hallucinate conjuncts, drop matras, and sometimes switch scripts. Studio99 doesn’t generate glyphs — it composes typography from real, licensed Indic fonts through a deterministic engine. The characters are correct by construction; what varies is the artistry, not the spelling. You get exact text as editable SVG or PNG, every call.

Build on typography that’s always spelled right.
