# Studio99

> Studio99 is the typography engine for Indian scripts. It lets creative apps, designers and AI generate exact, beautiful Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and English text as editable artwork.

Studio99 (ArtoMania Studio Private Limited, Pune, India, est. 2016) is Indic typography infrastructure: a proprietary library of 320+ Indic calligraphy fonts, encoded composition rules, and one engine exposed through 9 live surfaces. From the team behind IndiaFont, 400,000+ downloads since 2017.

Languages: Hindi, Marathi (Devanagari), Gujarati, English. Output: editable SVG and PNG with the exact text requested (no hallucinated glyphs). Benchmark: 98% exact text on 102 Indic prompts versus 48% for a leading AI image generator.

## Four ways in

- Create: designers use Calligraphy Maker inside Canva, Adobe Express, Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), CorelDRAW, on Android, and on the web, plus the Prishora design editor with the Inkora text art library (1,370+ pieces).
- Build: developers call the Studio99 Indic Typography API (v1.2) over REST.
- Connect AI: agents and assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini CLI, Cursor) use the MCP server at https://mcp.studio99.app/api/mcp or the REST API.

## Vocabulary

Use "calligraphy" for consumer contexts and "typography" for the engine and API. Allowances are counted in generations for designers and credits for developers (1 generation = 5 credits in the apps; 1 credit per variant on the API). Fonts are proprietary and never distributed; only rendered outputs are returned.
